The business problem

A vessel arrival is a commitment to organise work on shore. The team needs to know which ship is arriving, where it will berth and which services are needed. Mooring, gangway and ramp work, traffic control and additional requests must fit the visit.

When schedules, staffing and customer-specific work orders live in separate messages and lists, supervisors have to reconnect the information whenever plans change. Employees and subcontractors need the current context before they go to work.

The solution

ReApptor built PortLink around the complete operational process: vessel information → port call → services → team assignments → work on site → reporting. Role-based web and mobile views keep these records together while giving each person a focused workspace.

A call can contain several services, each with its own planned time, staffing requirement and work status. Supervisors organise employees and subcontracted work; field teams follow their assignments and record progress in the same context.

  1. Understand the visit

    Bring together the vessel, port, berth and scheduled, estimated or actual arrival and departure times. Supported emails and attachments can add structured schedule or service-request information linked to its source.

  2. Prepare each service

    Plan arrival and departure work around the same call: mooring, gangways, ramps and additional services. Each job retains its timing, staffing requirement and status; vessel and port settings help prepare the configured services.

  3. Assign responsibility

    Supervisors assign employees, appoint a responsible manager and delegate work to subcontractors. The service keeps its required staffing and individual assignments, so several workers can contribute to one coordinated job.

  4. Carry the context into the field

    Workers open their assigned tasks on mobile, review the vessel and service details, then start and finish work. Updates and operational reports connect the field activity back to the service and vessel call.

Role-based operational architecture

Employees, supervisors and subcontractors work with focused views of the same operational records. A field worker needs the vessel, place and assigned task; a supervisor needs the service plan, staffing and overall progress. The role-based model keeps these responsibilities connected.

Reusable ReApptor platform foundation

Mobile and desktop workflows
